In this role you will respond to calls and paging requests to support normal operations of the hospital system. Our call center team prides itself on fostering a team-oriented work environment while delivering the highest standard of customer service.   In this role, the Customer Service Representative answers calls professionally and courteously as they work on the UCH Call Center console and transfers calls to the appropriate destination. The CSR recognizes emergency, life threatening, and high priority calls and situations, and responds rapidly according to prescribed procedures. The CSR also provides paging services (overhead and ‘beeper’), and messaging functions. S/he will address callers’ concerns and provide correct information and directions.   Essential Job Functions: - Answer calls and initiate radio paging and overhead paging requests within prescribed performance intervals. - Conduct regularly scheduled tests for Call Center systems as designated by management, e.g., periodic overhead and radio paging as mandated by policies and procedures. - Document results by updating test logs, notifying appropriate supervisory or technical staff of negative or unusual results. - Provide accurate and appropriate information upon request or as necessary. Join a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Home Visit Nurse.    The Family Connects model is an evidence-based and successfully demonstrated program that connects parents of newborns to the community resources they need through postpartum nurse home visits. The model was developed in 2008 through a partnership with Duke University, the Center for Child &Family Health (CCFH), and the Durham County Health Department. As a community-based program, Family Connects supports new parents in caring for their newborn(s), offers physical assessments of the mother and the baby, addresses questions about caring for the newborn(s), identifies parents’ needs, and helps to identify community services or resources that can meet those needs. In addition, through this connection to resources, Family Connects helps to identify gaps in critical community-wide resources with the goal of working toward increasing needed services locally.   A Family Connects Home Visiting Nurse provides home visiting to all families with newborns in Chicago. The goal is to support and assess family needs in 12 domains of physical and psychosocial well-being and facilitate referrals and connections to community agencies to support families in these areas. The Home Visiting Nurse will work in a team environment of clinical and non-clinical staff in order to schedule, visit, and support families in the community using the evidence-based Family Connects home visiting protocol. Ability to communicate effectively with others is essential. Experience in maternal/child health, home visiting, lactation education, and fluency in Spanish desired.   Essential Job Functions:   - Follow the Family Connects home-visiting protocol. In the General Surgery / Observation unit, we provide care for multispecialty surgical and trauma patients.   A staff nurse is a registered professional nurse (RN) who manages patient centered care that is outcome directed. Patient centered care principles and professional nursing practice standards provide the foundation for the nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care provided. The staff nurse assumes the primary responsibility and accountability for all patient care personally provided and that provided by those directly under her/his supervision.     Required Qualifications - Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing - Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN degree or higher preferred. - Associate Degree Nurses are required to enroll in a BSN program within six (6) to nine (9) months of hire, and make progress toward and complete their BSN degree within 30 months. ADN nurses receive 100% tuition reimbursement towards a BSN degree from an accredited program. - Current Illinois RN license - BLS Preferred Qualifications - 1 year Nursing Experience  - Specialty Certification - RN experience in a teaching Hospital Position Details - Job Type/FTE: Full-time (0.9) - Shift: Nights - Unit/Department: 3C North-General Surgery / Observation - CBA Code: NNU Must comply with UCMC’s COVID-19 Vaccination requirement as a condition of employment.
