Experience state of the art Level One Trauma patient care and work with world renowned medical professionals in every area of service.   Essential Job Functions - Acquires anesthesia drugs from the satellite pharmacy, prepares anesthesia drugs and delivery system. - Functions as a member of the Care Team to carry out the plan for each patient and the Care Center.  - Performs preoperative assessment of the patient, which includes chart review, preop patient interview, history and physical if necessary, and establishes an anesthesia plan based on findings and discussion with the surgeon and attending anesthesiologist. - Demonstrates an expert proficiency in airway management, which includes mask ventilation, laryngeal mask ventilation, endotracheal intubation.  - Demonstrates proficiency in the management and/or placement of current monitoring techniques and procedures in the perioperative period which include but are not limited to:  ECG placement and interpretation, arterial line placement, central line catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, transesophegeal echocardiography, peripheral nerve stimulator's. - Records all pertinent perioperative events on the patient’s chart and anesthesia record.  - Transports patients postoperatively to an appropriate location based on anesthetic technique and patient’s condition, and reports the patient’s condition and anesthetic concerns to the appropriate clinician. - In collaboration with the attending anesthesiologist, the CRNA will demonstrate proficiency in the management of the induction, maintenance, and emergence of anesthesia. - Performs other duties assigned. In this role, you will collaborate with the entirety of the multi-disciplinary Breast Cancer program to provide patients the highest quality of care. As a navigator focused on breast cancer, you will serve as the outpatient clinical liaison and a single point of contact for patients. You will be responsible for coordinating the care of patients as they move from initial diagnosis through survivorship. You help ensure timely delivery of care and eliminate potential barriers, identify resources, and serve to enhance breast cancer disease management and the patient experience.   In this role, the Cancer Program Nurse Navigator is responsible for providing education and emotional support to patients and families, in addition to connecting patients with needed community and hospital resources. We’re hiring for a Staff Nurse (RN) in the PICU at the University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park, Illinois!   A Staff Nurse is a registered professional nurse (RN) who manages patient centered care that is outcome directed. Patient centered care principles and professional nursing practice standards provide the foundation for the nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care provided. The staff nurse assumes the primary responsibility and accountability for all patient care personally provided and that provided by those directly under her/his supervision.   Sign on Bonus up to- $10,000.00   The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Comer Children’s Hospital at the University of Chicago is a state-of-the-art facility, with 20 general PICU beds and 10 beds designated for cardiac intensive care patients. The PICU team directs the care of these critically ill children together with consulting services from across the hospital, including both medical and surgical subspecialties (pediatric surgery, cardiac surgery, trauma surgery, ENT, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, plastic surgery).   Required Qualifications - Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing - Associate Degree in Nursing - Associate Degree Nurses are required to enroll in a BSN program within six (6) to nine (9) months of hire, and make progress toward and complete their BSN degree within 30 months. ADN nurses receive 100% tuition reimbursement towards a BSN degree from an accredited program. - Current Illinois RN license - Active BLS certification  Preferred Qualifications  - Pediatric or PICU RN experience - Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or higher Position Details - Job Type/FTE: Full-Time, 0.9 FTE - Shift: Night Shift, 7:00pm - 7:00am, every other weekend working requirement  - Unit/Department: PICU - CBA Code: NNU Must comply with UCMC’s COVID-19 Vaccination requirement as a condition of employment. Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as a Physicist, Lead with our Medical Physics Team at our Harvey, Illinois location.   The Physicist, Lead is responsible for providing comprehensive, efficient, effective and safe radiation oncology physics support which includes quality assurance testing, dosimetry, and calibration of radiation therapy equipment, efficient and effective equipment management, 3D external beam treatment planning and special physics procedures, implementation of new clinical procedures and technology including image guided radiation therapy, supervision of dosimetry and other technical staff. The Physicist, Lead insures compliance with all relevant legal requirements, standards, and codes of practice, and contributes to training and education within the Service.    Eligible for up to $10,000 hiring bonus!    Essential Job Functions: - Maintains dosimetry on linear accelerators, sealed sources, CT and planning systems to meet the regulatory requirements. - Ensures that all equipment meets the accepted standards and codes of practice. - Maintains dosimetry for sealed and unsealed sources for brachytherapy. - Ensures that the treatment checking protocol is met - Assists with the ongoing development and maintain a suitable quality assurance program covering all aspects of radiation oncology. - Ensures that the quality assurance program meets the codes of safe practice currently in use from the (Illinois Department of Public Health, American Association of Physicists in Medicine, American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology, American College of Radiology, etc). - Ensures adequate supervision of technical staff undertaking quality assurance program. - Performs complex treatment planning, such as radiosurgery, brachytherapy and other special planning. - Manages purchase, inventory and quality assurance of radioactive sources. - Continues to develop procedures and protocols to further enhance current and new equipment. - Utilizes relevant research findings where appropriate and participate in clinical development activities when required. - Participates in new equipment evaluation, acceptance testing, and in the implementation of new procedures and technologies in the clinic. - Ensures that the regulatory requirements are met and maintained to maintain high standards of radiation safety for personnel and equipment. - Advises on all aspects of radiation safety to ensure that personnel are following the appropriate standards, equipment is operated within safe guidelines, and installation of new equipment meets the regulations and manufacturers specifications. - Supervises the work of dosimetrist, reviews and evaluates treatment plans generated by dosimetry staff. - Makes recommendations to Radiation Oncologist on effective and safe patient treatment approaches. - Participates in peer and self appraisal, keeps up to date with current trends in medical physics and radiation oncology works and imparts this knowledge where relevant. - Participates in own regular ongoing education, undertakes education sessions for health and education groups in particular for Dosimetrists, Radiation Therapists, Nursing, and Maintenance staff. Takes responsibility for self-directed and self-initiated learning. - Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: - A Masters of Science or a PhD degree in Medical Physics or a closely related field in science or engineering. - A minimum of 3 year work experience in radiation oncology. - Well developed organizational, interpersonal skills, and communication skills. - Board certification by the American Board of Medical Physics or the American Board of Radiology, in Therapeutic Radiological Physics or in a closely related specialty. - Meet the registration requirements of 32 Illinois Administrative code section 410 for Therapeutic Radiological Physicists and be registered as an approved Therapeutic Radiological Physicist with the State of Illinois   Position Details: - Job Type/FTE: Full Time (1.0 FTE) - Shift: Days – 8 hour shift - Unit/Department: Medical Physics  - CBA Code: Non-Union   Must comply with UCMC’s COVID-19 Vaccination requirement as a condition of employment. Operates, directs and supervises the department and all related systems in an efficient and effective manner. Utilizes time management skill to prioritize departmental activities and tray reprocessing.
