Performs cashiering duties and assists in the training of new pharmacists and technician employees in their work areas.     Essential Job Functions  - Transports medications (excluding those medications handled through the pharmacy’s controlled substance distribution system), IV’s, TPN’s, Chemotherapy, medication cassettes, other pharmacy supplies and equipment to the nursing units and clinics. Adds patient specific and re-stock medications to the Omnicell machines located in patient care areas, except the sterile corridor of surgery. Returns discontinued and outdated medications from the Omnicells to the Pharmacy. - Replaces CPR cart medications following Dr. Cart events. Transfers patient specific medications from the Omnicell on the discharged unit to the Omnicell on the unit to which the patient has been transferred. - Rotates through all work areas of the pharmacy department, works as a team player to achieve pharmaceutical care for the patient, fills, first doses, restocks and patient specific medications from the carousels, performs monthly nursing unit, clinic and pharmacy area inspections as directed, maintains work areas (IV Room, UD Area, Manufacturing area, store rooms, pharmacy satellites) by restocking and cleaning as needed, answers phone calls - Triages phone communication appropriately and according to policy, collects quality assurance data and maintains workload records as required, performs other patient and/or drug related duties within the legal scope of their licensure as assigned by the pharmacist and/or supervisor. - Prepares medications and supplies for dispensing under the supervision of a pharmacist including:  prepackaging bulk medications byfilling unit dose-specific syringes and vials of medications for both adult and pediatric patients, compounded oral suspensions and Grade One mouthwash. Graduates of foreign pharmacy programs are also eligible for consideration. - Ability to work as a team player to accomplish optimal patient care by providing superior pharmaceutical services. - Good communication skills to interact with patients and staff. - Considerable knowledge of basic pharmacy practices and procedures. - Considerable knowledge of medications and medical supplies. - Good knowledge of record keeping practices. - Successful completion of core technician competencies and subsequent yearly competencies. - Considerable skill in working with attention to detail. - Considerable verbal communications skills. - Familiar with computers and keyboard usage. - Sensitivity to patient care issues as they pertain to the practice of pharmacy. In this role you will respond to calls and paging requests to support normal operations of the hospital system. In this role as a Cytotechnologist, you will conduct microscopic examination of non-gynecologic and gynecologic specimens and record finding in LIS computer system.  This position may assists with specimen adequacy assessment during ROSE procedures.  Records required data on daily screening and participates in quality control assessments.  Cytotechnologist work collaboratively with colleagues, participates in process improvement projects, and trains Cytotechnology students.   Job Summary   In consultation with the Anatomical Pathology Manager, pathologists and Medical Directors, the Cytotechnologist is responsible for screening and diagnosing gynecological and non-gynecological slides. Activities include accessioning, staining, assisting in Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) for on-site adequacy evaluation of FNA procedures, and reporting results according to established procedures. Join UChicago Medicine, as an Assistant Patient Care Manager in the Adult Emergency Department.   The University of Chicago Medicine is designated as a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, meaning the hospital is prepared to handle the most seriously injured trauma patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We provide trauma surgery, acute care surgery and critical care surgery to treat injuries involving burns, blunt trauma, which can occur from falls or pedestrian-motor vehicle crashes and penetrating traumas, typically seen in gunshot or stab wounds.   The Adult ED consists of 45 patient care beds (and 12 fast-track chairs), including six trauma/resuscitation suites and separate rooms for infection isolation, care of immune compromised patients, and psychiatric consultations. In the general care area, 45 rooms are fully equipped with critical care monitoring capabilities. The six trauma/resuscitation suites are immediately adjacent to the ambulance bay. The main trauma suite is equipped with a video camera and monitor which is used to record and review resuscitations. This experience is invaluable for analyzing and learning from the acute care setting.    The Assistant Patient Care Manager (APCM) will be responsible and accountable for over-seeing the operations and patient flow of a designated Care Center on her/his respective shift. Duties include completing daily or shift specific quality audits and Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) boards, facilitate daily huddles with staff, and directing delivery of quality, patient-centered care in a financially responsible manner. This is in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Patient Care Manager (PCM). In the absence of the PCM, the APCM assumes responsibility for the unit. We’re hiring an Emergency Room Technician at the University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park, Illinois! In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high quality care to our patients in our Adult Emergency Department.    The Adult Emergency Department consists of 45 patient care beds (and 12 fast-track chairs), including six trauma/resuscitation suites and separate rooms for infection isolation, care of immune compromised patients, and psychiatric consultations. In the general care area, 45 rooms are fully equipped with critical care monitoring capabilities. The six trauma/resuscitation suites are immediately adjacent to the ambulance bay. The main trauma suite is equipped with a video camera and monitor which is used to record and review resuscitations. This experience is invaluable for analyzing and learning from the acute care setting.    Job Summary: The Emergency Room Technician assists and augments the registered nursing staff in providing high quality patient care in the Emergency Room.
