A Data Center Infrastructure Engineer – Specialist is responsible for day to day operation of UCH’s data centers and IT spaces and associated support equipment including HVAC, UPS’S, power distribution units, emergency generators and monitoring the network operations center while working independently with general direction from the Director Data Center Strategy and Operations.
Essential Job Functions
Responsible for overseeing vendors, projects and special assignments as directed
Provides highly skilled technical assistance in space, power and cooling planning
Writes and keeps current the DCIM, complex MOP’s and SOPs for infrastructure maintenance and operation
Identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting infrastructure systems
Understand theory of operation of all infrastructure equipment and systems
May function in a lead capacity within the department
Provides guidance and direction for less experienced Infrastructure Engineers
Ability to safely operate generators, UPS’s, HVAC equipment and switchgear
Racks, stacks and provisions servers, switches and cabling in data center and other IT spaces

Compensation & Benefits Overview
UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
