Job Description

Join one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine, as a Sr. Analyst HR Technology for our HR Technology & Analytics Department. This is a remote, work from home opportunity, and you may be based outside of the greater Chicagoland area. 

  

The Sr. Analyst HR Technology will perform application configuration, set up and testing of the Oracle HCM Application, and other HR applicationsThis includes providing ongoing support and testing for business processes and reports and integrations between Oracle and other internal and external applications. The Sr. Analyst HR Technology will review business requirements received from business stakeholders to document a functional design that can be transformed into a technical specification. This will include detailed analysis of the business requests, documentation of the user’s requirements, and evaluating system recommendations. The role will base their recommendation on Oracle industry best practices and consider potential implications of the technology stack. The Sr. Analyst HR Technology will also assist with assessment, testing and preparation for the Oracle quarterly releases. This will include performing an impact analysis for new features or bug fixes that are presented in quarterly releases to understand the impact to the UCM Oracle Cloud environment. This position will require close collaboration with the HR Department and Oracle support team to develop and execute test scripts to evaluate the updates for a release. 

  

A successful candidate will have the following characteristics: 

  • Strong HR knowledge in application management and overall Oracle HCM business processes.   
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint) 
  • Ability to handle pressure and maintain a professional attitude and demeanor in both normal and pressure situations. 
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment. 

 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Lead discussions with business stakeholders to understand business challenges and recommend process/application solutions. Provides ongoing maintenance and support for HRIS/HR applications. 
  • Configure and set up work structures (e.g. position codes, salary rates, grades, and organization hierarchy). Perform mass updates using HDL loads and familiar with other application setups such as value sets, lookups, payroll user tables and fast formulas. 
  • Resolve incidents, implement enhancements and other application solutions, set-up new Oracle features/functionality.  
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing and complete functional validation and regression testing for all upgrades, incidents, and enhancements. Ensure that all related documentation is updated appropriately.  
  • Perform impact assessment, regression test, and document test cases for Quarterly releases. 
  • Complete work and tasks related to environment refresh plans with a high degree of quality. 

 

Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience 
  • 3 or more years of Human Resources experience 
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Oracle Cloud in one or more modules: Human Capital Management, Benefits, HCM or related application 
  • Subject Matter Expert in HCM stack and HCM processing  
  • Comprehensive HRIS systems background (particularly Oracle Cloud) principles and procedures 
  • Experience using Service Now or any incident management tools  
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to HRIS problems quickly and efficiently 
  • Experience with system configuration, system implementation life cycle or project management and requirements definition with strong database proficiency 
  • Ability to develop and analyze HR data and provide insights to management 
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task to drive results 
  • Experience in working in a team setting to complete tasks and work in a project/production environment 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with OTBI to create reports and dashboards  
  • Oracle Cloud Certification in HCM or HCM modules

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
