Job Description

Be a part of a world-class academic health-care system, UChicago Medicine, as a Project Manager, Food Services, at our Hyde Park medical campus. This position will be primarily onsite with some opportunities for remote work. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.   

  

In this role, the Food Services Project Manager will provide support for the Food Services team at the Hyde Park Location. The Food Service Project Manager will develop tools, implement programs, and processes necessary to drive organizational initiatives. Must have demonstrated the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to develop, manage, and execute project management and achieve desired project outcomes. The successful candidate is a forward thinker and exercises a solid business acumen/savvy, organization, stakeholder (people) expectation management, and project leadership skills. The job requires a strategic mindset, excellent communication abilities, analytical skills, self-motivation, and creativity.  

  

Essential Job Functions 

  • Responsible for all project phases and project deliverables: intake, organization, assignment, and closeout of projects.  
  • Oversees project plan creation, execution, stakeholder responsibilities, monitoring, communication cadence, and customized communications as identified by the leadership team.  
  • Assigns individual responsibilities, conducts project meetings, coordinates activities, identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops schedules to ensure adherence to quality standards, timely completion of projects, including project tracking and analysis 
  • Provides support for capturing current workflowsidentifying improvement opportunities, and developing future workflows. 
  • Fosters relationships by developing a strong level of trust and credibility with all stakeholders. 
  • Translates and communicates information, implications, and recommendations using clear written and verbal skills appropriately with a diverse audience. 
  • Enables identification, resolution, and potential escalation of issues and course correct/revise project plans. 
  • Provides support, as assigned, to institution-wide process improvement and clinical resource management initiatives while coordinating analyses of information from multiple sources 
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

  

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training acquired via work experience or education 
  • Three years of related work experience 
  • Three years of previous project/performance improvement experience, with focus on operational change, and implementation of lean and quality improvement principles 

  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree 
  • Healthcare, food service, or support services operational experience

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
