Job Description

Join a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as our next Executive Director, Growth & System Marketing. We are seeking a progressive “game-changer” – a visionary leader with a proven track record in the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies to drive demand, patient and provider acquisition, and engagement in the healthcare sector. This role requires a dynamic leader who can manage a high-performing team, optimize marketing campaigns across multiple channels, and ensure alignment with overall business goals.

 

The successful candidate will leverage data-driven insights, foster continuous team development, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders to achieve outstanding marketing performance.  Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role will be an innovative partner, demonstrating a high degree of analytical strategy by using data to coach and propel service line priorities, while driving organizational success as UChicago Medicine continues to grow. 

 

This position is located in Chicago with the expectation that you will work on-site 1-2 days each week.

 

Who you are: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business required.
  • 10+ years experience with a notable record of results while working as a leader in marketing, communications or related field.
  • Experience in a highly complex healthcare or hospital organization with a focus on patient and provider acquisition, along with engagement is highly preferred.   
  • A visionary, bold, creative, courageous, and innovative mindset; well versed in operating in a very competitive marketplace.
  • Proven ability to achieve results in a matrixed organization through strong data analytics, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Solid reputation as an individual who can provide sound leadership and build effective teams to maximize organizational growth and success.

What you’ll do as the Executive Director, Growth & System Marketing: 

  • Develop and execute dynamic marketing initiatives to drive demand that increases patient appointment volumes for our service lines.  Create a scalable demand generation and capture machine utilizing multiple channels and advanced targeting methods.
  • Focus on patient and provider acquisition and engagement by developing and implementing strategies to acquire and engage patients and healthcare providers, including the development of compelling service messaging and positioning that highlights unique value propositions to address both patient and provider needs.
  • Lead the development and executive of an integrated and cohesive digital and traditional marketing strategy aimed at driving organizational growth.
  • Demonstrate effective ROI and performance metrics by meeting or surpassing revenue targets within budgeted costs - proving effectiveness with KPI reporting and ROI analytics for all marketing initiatives.
  • Build, inspire, and manage a high-performing marketing team through effective coaching and development for long-term success.  Foster continuous learning withing the team through regular communications, meetings, training, and professional development plans.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement with marketing systems and tools, providing input on marketing automation systems capabilities, data needs, and related process roadmaps.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, IT, internal marketing and communications teams, along with clinical and operational leadership, as well as other cross-functional teams to ensure marketing strategies align with business objectives.
  • Monitor competitors and respond quickly by shifting the organizational marketing strategy to align with current market trends and across competing stakeholders.
  • Foster efforts to positively impact the organization’s visibility, image, and relationship with its surrounding community.

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
