Job Description

Be a part of a world-class academic health-care system at The University of Chicago Medicine as a Capital Projects Manager in the UChicago Medicine Facility Operations Department at Hyde Park.

 

Job Summary

 

The Program Manager, Capital Projects is responsible for supporting operational and transition planning services for Routine, Strategic and Capital projects under the guidance and supervision of Program Directors and the Director of Operations Planning. This role will assist in the delivery of healthcare projects, both on campus and at offsite locations. The Program Manager will organize meetings, track documentation, and maintain communication channels between stakeholders. The Program Manager will coordinate follow up and task work in early planning. The Program Manager will gather information for operational and equipment planning. The Project Manager will support departmental preparation, and move readiness for departments impacted by projects. The Program Manager will report on schedule, equipment, budget tracking, and other task management. The Program Manager will create and maintain project schedules and budgets for assigned projects. The Project Manager will identify and mitigate operational risks within assigned project scope.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinating operations planning, workflow documentation, equipment inventory, and departmental communication for Capital projects.
  • Attending planning and design meetings, taking notes, and helping to document standard work procedures and developing innovative tools for project tracking and task management.
  • Supporting departmental move and relocation planning by creating checklists and coordinating logistics.
  • Serving as a liaison between operational departments and the project team.
  • Will manage equipment lists, data and other financial tracking within the larger budget, under the direction of Program Director.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in project support/coordination or healthcare leadership is required.
  • Healthcare environment experience preferred.
  • Experience working in cross functional project teams with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders preferred.

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
