The Supervisor of Supply Chain Logistics has responsibility for operational inventory management of patient care supplies. This position supervises all day-to-day activities of inventory management supporting our clinical partners, up to and including the warehousing and stocking of all inventoried supplies, par level maintenance, transactional accounting of all inventory supply movement and reconciliation of inventory balances. This position is responsible for assigning tasks and ensures all work tasks are performed according to approved company procedures, standards, and specification. Creates an environment that fosters employee engagement. Reviews, monitors, and documents employee performance, attendance, and behavior Responsible for establishing and ensuring compliance with all UCMC Supply Chain policies and procedures.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures execution of all processes to Supply Chain Standards, drive expectations and measure results through MDI process, maintains departmental policies and procedures, and maintain highly efficient work environment through 5S process. Ensure daily workload is balanced and assigned appropriately.
  • Review, monitor, and document appropriately all employee performance, attendance, and behavior on a timely basis. Provides in-service education/training to ensure that the employees are educated and updated on all policies, procedures, performance expectations, regulatory issues, and departmental changes.
  • Ensures that all inventory transactions are executed correctly, and inventory is right sized to meet customer needs.
  • Ensures compliance to all Hospital Policies/Procedures and all regulatory policies, including but not limited to JCAHO, IDPH, and OSHA.
  • Acts as a liaison to Patient Care areas to eliminate and/or resolve supply issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in lieu of degree relevant work experience can be considered
  • Supervisory skills including planning, organizing, controlling and evaluating the operational needs of the areas without direct supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment with individuals of diverse disciplines in a goal-oriented environment
  • Ability to work in a stressful setting while providing excellent customer service and patient satisfaction
  • Ability to lift 80 pounds of free weight and/or push 450 pounds on wheels for short distances
  • Demonstrates an understanding of Lean concepts, continual improvement, and problem solving
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 3 or more years of leadership experience
  • Experience working in a medical setting

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
