You'll manage a team responsible for optimizing oncology revenue workflows, ensuring accurate billing, timely reimbursement, referral needs, Medicaid follow up and insurance statuses. This role requires close collaboration with clinical departments to address patient insurance issues, support new care initiatives, and facilitate effective insurance navigation for complex oncology treatments. You'll serve as the key liaison between oncology departments and operations teams, translating clinical needs into effective revenue processes. A core responsibility includes managing work queue volumes to ensure timely patient outreach, authorization management, and cancer care financial navigation; all aimed at reducing barriers to care while maximizing appropriate reimbursement for oncology services.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborate timely and effectively with the clinical leadership to resolved workflow concerns, insurance issues and patient/provider escalations
  • Monitor work queue volume, employee productivity and daily operations specific to oncology services including accurate coverage, network status, referral needs and options for assistance including Medicaid, Marketplace plans, free drug programs and financial assistance
  • Serve as the oncology department's primary point of contact with the Revenue Cycle team, coordinating efforts to address denials, payment variances, staying up to date on payer policies, available support programs, and other reimbursement obstacles specific to oncology treatments and patients
  • Provide direct finance counseling and navigation support to patients including explanation of insurance benefits, estimated costs and payment responsibilities, assisting patients in applying for financial assistance, Medicaid, Marketplace plans and manufacturer copay support.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor the CCIS staff including conducting performance evals, coaching team members and coordinating appropriate coverage for staff absences to ensure accurate staffing levels to support the department needs
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, state and federal regulations, and HIPAA
