Job Description

Join one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine, as a TIBCO Integration Programmer – Senior in our IT Enterprise Architecture department. This position will be primarily a work from home opportunity with the requirement to come onsite as needed. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area  

  

In this role, the TIBCO Integration Programmer - Senior, formulates and defines project scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify in-house developed applications and/or programs. Is competent to work on most phases of application development lifecycle activities that include design and code but requires instruction and guidance in other phases of the project development lifecycle, such as Analysis, Test, and Conversion. This position is responsible for documenting and supporting these in-house developed applications and/or programs. This person will develop, configure, and support Integration components using TIBCO integration platform TIBCO BusinessWorks Container Edition (BW CE), EMS, CEP, ActiveSpaces, and Managed File Transfer (MFT)  

  

Essential Job Functions 

  • Participates in system development lifecycle activities as assigned: design, code, test and debug, document and maintain these programs with general supervision 
  • Develop and maintain integration solutions using TIBCO Business Works Container Edition (BW CE) for cloud-native or containerized deployments 
  • Develop detailed program specifications while ensuring that expected application performance levels are achieved by managing interfaces, service levels, standards, and configurations 
  • Develop, unit tests, debugs, documents, and maintains TIBCO integration components 
  • Collaborate closely with teams in all stages of software development lifecycle including design, development, and testing of the system 
  • Establish, refine, and integrate development and test environment tools and software as needed 
  • Configure and maintain MFT (Managed File Transfer) profiles 
  • Provides applications support, and works with vendors and infrastructure team members to support more complex issues 
  • Participates in projects leveraging a mature SDLC from analysis and requirements documentation, design, test plan development, testing, and launch of applicable system elements 
  • Think strategically using data to drive decisions and solutions 
  • May perform research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems 
  • Participate in scheduled weekend and evening on call support rotation 
  • Monitor operating efficiency and organizational needs of existing application systems, and identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applications of developed projects and recommend technical solutions 
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of methodologies and standards as established through the Project Management Office (PMO) 
  • Troubleshoots application system problems and makes improvements as needed 
  • Analyzes and implements/develops solutions for production or testing problems, and seeks support when necessary 
  • Identifies and documents standards for operating the application or program 
  • Follows and implements change control standards and procedure  

 

Qualifications 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science or technical area preferred, or equivalent training or work experience 
  • Minimum of 4 years of directly applicable experience in systems analysis, programming, and technical design 
  • At least 2 years of Hands-on experience developing and supporting integrations using the TIBCO platform, including: TIBCO Business Works Container Edition (BW CE), TIBCO EMS (Enterprise Message Service), TIBCO Active Spaces, TIBCO Business Events / CEP 
  • Proficiency in TIBCO development tools and integration patterns 
  • Experience working with REST/SOAP APIs, WSDL, JSON, XML, and XSLT, FHIR services, JSON, OAuth, Message Queue, Integration/File transfer patterns, and SQL experience with stored procedures / Database triggers. 
  • Strong command of Java, UNIX Shell scripting, and SQL 
  • Understanding of secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, AS2, HTTPS)  
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) and YAML 
  • Programming Languages, Java, UNIX Shell scripting, and XML technologies including XSLT, XPATH, XSD. 
  • Basic understanding of HL7 standards 
  • Proven skills in problem solving 
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments by exemplifying outstanding technical, analytical, management, and problem-solving skills 
  • Must work well in a team environment and be able to partner with both business and technical team members 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills required 
  • Experience in a health care environment helpful 
  • Proficiency in the programming language /tools used in the position required

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
