Join a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as the IMH Program Manager, Community Benefit & Relations. We are seeking a strong and passionate leader who can enhance community health and wellness around specific priority health needs in the Southland. The Program Manager acts as a coordinator between multiple projects aligned with overall business goals. This position will be responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing the operation of community health programs at Ingalls Memorial Hospital, located in Harvey, IL.

 

Reporting to the Executive Director of Community & External Affairs, this Program Manager is a partner who is focused on the collaborative coordination of activities and projects that support the priority health areas that have been identified through the community health needs assessment, CHNA. The successful candidate will participate in creating community benefit reports and help to ensure accurate reporting for the state government, the federal government, and local community benefits reporting bodies. As the Program Manager you will coordinate the program planning, implementation, and design to promote service delivery best practices, foster community partnerships, and support the monitoring of program delivery through evaluation, research, and engagement.   

 

Who you are: 

  • Bachelor in Sociology, Psychology, Community/ Public Health and/or Business Administration; Master preferred in public health, social work, psychology, and/or similar academic study. 
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in program management in a community health environment.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and own a car.
  • Notable achievements in building partnerships and collaborating with community members.  
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, to include previous newsletter publications a strong plus.

What you’ll do as the IMH Program Manager, Community Benefit & Relations:

  • Participate in conducting the community health needs assessment and strategic implementation report, to include the tracking of metrics and reporting of data to clearly understand and demonstrate program impact while ensuring continuous quality improvement and consistent, high-quality program services aligned with program goals and objectives.
  • Prepare progress reports, stories, and/or templates for communicating community benefit activities, outcomes, and impact for various internal and external audiences.
  • Responsible for the design, development, and publication of a community relations newsletter as well as the recruitment of employee volunteers to serve as subject matter experts and to assist with external programming opportunities.
  • Organize and participate in special events related to community health improvement and community benefit externally and internally.
  • Support community initiatives to promote collaborative arrangements that meet the health needs of the population.
  • Coordinate the creation of community benefit reports that ensure accurate reporting for the state government, the federal government, and local community benefit reporting.
  • Monitor and maintain productivity and statistical records related to program operations.
  • Oversee operations for Ingalls Essential Steps to Heart Health and all existing and new community health programming.
  • Plan and execute a variety of offsite events and health fairs with a focus on the CHNA priority health areas.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with community partners, including but not limited to, local schools, churches, and social service and community organizations.
  • Report quarterly on internal volunteer metrics.
  • Foster efforts to positively impact the organization’s visibility, image, and relationship with its surrounding community.

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
