Job Description

We are seeking a Data Coordinator to join our Hematopoietic Cellular Therapy Program at UChicago Medicine.

 

This position is part of the Hematopoietic Cellular Therapy Program (Program) and will be responsible for the data management activities as required by the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) and by the Program. Main responsibilities include accurate collection and timely submission of transplant and cellular therapy data to CIBMTR and the maintenance of the Program’s internal database. Works closely with the TCT Director, quality and compliance manager, clinical research coordinators, nurses, Cell Lab, faculty, and IT team. Assists in the performance of audits of the CIBMTR data forms to ensure data quality and integrity. Participates in other special study requests from the Program, including collection of additional clinical data to benchmark outcomes against national and international survival data. Assists with FACT inspections as needed.  Actively communicates with program administration and quality team regarding any data concerns and reports progress toward quarterly data goals. 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field
  • Minimum 2 years related healthcare or data coordination experience with previous database project management experience
  • Previous coursework or professional experience in information systems technology highly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical practices and terminology, especially hematology-oncology terminology, strongly preferred

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to interpret medical reports is crucial; excellent analytical / statistical skills
  • Intermediate to advanced ability to utilize multiple software applications, including MS Excel, Word, Access, and others
  • Familiarity with Apple and Microsoft products
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact well with medical staff
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently


Essential Functions

  • Database Management - Responsible for the maintenance of the Transplant Main Database. Includes working with the IT Department in maintaining or implementing changes or upgrades to the database application.  
  • Data Quality Assurance -Employee will develop procedures to ensure the accuracy of data. This includes assisting the Transplant Quality and Compliance Manager with internal auditing.
  • Data Collection -Employee will be responsible for gathering and entering data into the CIBMTR FormsNet application and other appropriate data application programs such as Rave, Medidata, Velos, etc.
  • Regulatory Compliance -Employee will monitor the program’s CPI report to ensure that the Program maintains at least 90% completion rate per trimester as required by CIBMTR.
  • Special Projects -Employee will assist the Quality team and program administration with special projects as needed.

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
