Job Description

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine Care Network, as a Social Worker at our Kenwood clinic. Here you will work alongside our Family Medicine /Internal Medicine/Senior Care team. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.

 

Our Kenwood location offers exceptional primary care for your most basic and pressing health needs. In addition to general primary care for adults of all ages, this site is equipped with primary care experts and integrated care services specifically for people of all ages.

 

As a Social Worker, you’ll be a member of the multidisciplinary team who provides consultation, assessment, and interventions for patients and families in need of emotional, social or psychological support.

  • Communicating with Patients and Families

  • Maintaining an environment in alignment with the organizations PRIDE values
  • Provides administrative coverage when requested.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
  • Participates in data collection process for social work
  • Represents Social Work in professional and community organizations as appropriate. Provides community outreach through lectures, volunteering expertise to other agencies as needed, etc.     
  • Serves on committees as assigned.
  • Supports the philosophy and objectives of the patient services as outlined in our annual ambulatory operating plan.
  • Demonstrates awareness of and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Complies with standards and regulations of licensure, regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Complies with the legal requirements as a mandated reporter to appropriate governmental agencies, such as DCFS.
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures as set forth thru the organization
  • Assesses own need for professional growth and development and seeks appropriate resources to meet needs.
  • Attends continuing education programs as either attendee or presenter.
  • Belongs to appropriate professional and/or specialty organizations.
  • Involved in promoting Social Work within the hospital through Social Work month, in-services, lectures, etc.

 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from a School of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
  • Requires knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan.
  • Previous clinical social work experience in a health care setting of at least one year.
  • Possess current state of Illinois Social Work License (LSW) or must be eligible for licensure. Must secure license within probationary period.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • LCSW

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
