Job Description

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Homecare Quality & Compliance Manager for our Home Health and Hospice Agencies for a Full Time, Days shift. Home Health and Hospice care at UChicago Medicine offers an interdisciplinary team-oriented approach to care. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.

 

Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus up to $15,000

 

The Homecare Quality & Compliance Manager manages the quality care delivery and compliance of the Homecare agency, including oversight and supervision of the quality and compliance staff. Oversees patient care quality, ensures regulatory compliance, and identifies and implements quality improvement initiatives. Manages the compliance aspect of the Homecare revenue cycle, including follow-up and resolution within the clinical record to ensure timely throughput and accuracy of Homecare billing.

 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Develops, implements, and monitors quality improvement programs and initiatives. 
  • Collects and analyzes data to identify areas for improvement in patient care and clinical processes. 
  • Submits data metrics accurately and timely for organizational report-outs.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based practices and protocols. 
  • Conducts audits and reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices. 
  • Facilitates quality improvement meetings and presentations. 
  • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and policies, including those from the Joint Commission, CMS, Illinois Department of Public Health, and other state and federal agencies. 
  • Maintains a state of survey readiness for the Homecare agency and participates in the survey process.
  • Identifies and addresses potential compliance issues through comprehensive review and auditing processes.
  • Manages the clinical record review process for all payers including ADRs, denials, and appeals.
  • Manages the clinical record release requests in compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations and policy and procedure.
  • Provides training and education to staff on compliance requirements. 
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation related to compliance. 
  • Supervises and manages a team of quality and compliance professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. 
  • Conducts supervisory visits with the clinical staff to ensure compliance in patient care delivery standards.
  • Communicates effectively with staff, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. 
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of the hospital's quality and safety initiatives. 
  • Promotes a culture of safety and patient advocacy. 
  • Identifies and mitigates potential safety risks. 
  • Investigates and analyzes adverse events. 
  • Implements corrective actions and process improvement to prevent recurrence of adverse events. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Current state of Illinois nursing license as an RN
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Bachelor’s Science Nursing degree required. Master’s degree in healthcare related field preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in health care quality and compliance with three (3) years of supervisory and/or management experience, preferably in Hospice or Home Health.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Hospice and/or Home Health regulations; Medicare Conditions of Participation, Illinois Department of Public Health requirements, and The Joint Commission standards.
  • Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance and has the availability of personal and dependable mode(s) of transportation to conduct home visits

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.

  • Shift: Days, 8:00am to 4:30pm, Mondays through Fridays, with rotating Administrator On Call schedule every 5 weeks

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
