Join us At the Forefront, at University of Chicago Medicine, as an Imaging Physics Resident in the Radiology General Procedures Department at UChicago Medicine Main Campus

 

As an Imaging Physics Resident, you will be training in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics..

 

Job Summary:

 

Under the supervision of certified Medical Physicists, studies and trains in all aspects of diagnostic imaging medical physics including radiography, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology, mammography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, ultrasound and imaging informatics. Provides physics support, interacts with radiologists in optimizing imaging protocols and patient radiation dose, and is involved in routine quality assurance of equipment.  We seek candidates with an excellent foundation in medical physics and a strong desire to thrive in a clinical environment. Preferred candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in medical physics from a CAMPEP-accredited graduate program or have completed a CAMPEP-accredited Certificate Program in Medical Physics.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Under supervision of a certified medical physicist, provides provide physics support in optimizing imaging protocols and patient radiation dose
  • Assist medical physicist with routine quality assurance on equipment
  • Fulfill duties as assigned, including proper and complete documentation of clinical projects and clinical rotations
  • Complete rotations with satisfactory evaluation
  • Performs other duties as requested by senior management

Required Qualifications:

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
