Join a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as the Executive Director, System Public Safety. We are seeking an experienced professional to develop strategy and execute the Public Safety program across the UChicago Medicine System to include: Directing the activities and programs across all locations in the health system to ensure the security and safety of employees, visitors, patients and their families. Developing and implementing short- and long-term goals, objectives, and programs for Public Safety and coordinating with the University Safety & Security department on Hyde Park security. Managing the System Public Safety function using performance metrics and measurement against goals to include an annual risk assessment. Leading Workplace Violence Prevention strategy and the execution across the health system. Developing relationships with the University community, law enforcement partners, community partners and service providers. Communicating strategies and programs to the University, Health System Administration, as well as the broader community.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain and Support Services, this Executive Director is a strategic business partner. A critical thinker and influential leader, the successful candidate will have 2-6 direct reports and provide leadership for a department of 200 staff that operate and maintain the Hyde Park Academic Medical Center campus facilities, in addition to the Ingalls Memorial Hospital campus and the UChicago Medicine Crown Point campus, as well as various ambulatory locations in growing health system. They must actively manage human, capital, and operational resources using well-developed metrics and KPIs. This position has oversight for the annual budget of $30 million spread over several cost centers.
