Job Description

Respiratory Therapist Student, Evenings

 

Join the hospital trusted by Chicago’s Southland, Ingalls Memorial Hospital, in this role as a Respiratory Student (RT). 

 

Under the direction of the Director and/or Supervisor, Respiratory Care Services the second year Respiratory Care student will perform basic respiratory care treatments and procedures on adult patients under the proximal supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist (RT). They will provide for patient assessment and implement appropriate patient care as specified by respiratory care policy and procedures. Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide respiratory care procedures. Pursues professional development opportunities.
Knows, follows and actively supports the Mission, Vision and Core Values of Ingalls Memorial Hospital. Adheres to all hospital policies, procedures and standards of care. Observes and adheres to all corporate compliance requirements and communicates issues as they arise to the appropriate parties as identified in the Corporate Compliance Plan.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Second year student in an approved and accredited Respiratory Care Program with evidence of continued enrollment.

  • Must demonstrate effective and accurate communication, documentation and technical skills, both verbally and in writing

 

Required Licence

  • Basic Life Support Healthcare provider certification (American Heart Association)

Must comply with Ingalls Memorial Hospital's COVID-19 Vaccination requirement as a condition of employment. Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
