Job Description

Join a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Quality Coordinator in the Perinatal Department.

 

As a Perinatal Quality Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing perinatal data collection, perinatal database operations and perinatal quality improvement. The perinatal data coordinator works with the perinatal network staff to oversee data activities of the network both internally for UCM and externally as oversight for the UCM Perinatal Network. This role supports and includes but is not limited to perinatal case reviews including chart abstraction and submission to state data base, site visit re-designations, transfer and transport services and oversight of perinatal network IDPH perinatal code report requirements.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintenance of network transport and transfer information
  • Reviews accuracy of monthly network statistics for obstetrics and neonatal, and oversight of timeliness submission to the perinatal network
  • Programming of new reports as requested by perinatal network administrator
  • Responsible for ongoing integration and extraction of data into the IDPH Prenatal Database
  • Disseminated relevant findings through practice and communication as expected
  • Participates in required network meetings as determined
  • Generates quality measurement reports for State of Illinois and UCM
  • Includes but not limited to chart abstraction and preparation of UCM perinatal case reviews in conjunction with perinatal network staff
  • Oversight of UCM perinatal case reviews as scheduled in conjunction with network staff, UCM Providers and staff
  • Supports Network Letters of Agreement as requested
  • Identifies ongoing opportunities through data management for perinatal quality improvement
  • Other duties as requested or assigned by network administrator

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Masters preferred
  • 5 years of clinical experience in either Obstetrics with a high-risk adjunct experience, or neonatal practice
  • Knowledge and participation in Perinatal Quality Initiatives
  • Understanding of EPIC EMR and data abstraction, desire to be proficient in compiling QI data through QI software
  • Illinois Registered Professional Nurse License
  • National Certification preferred
