    Transplant Services Specialist, Kidney Acquisition, Full-Time, Day Shift (8-hour shifts), University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park, Chicago, IL

     

    We're hiring a Transplant Services Specialist for the Kidney Acquisition department in a full-time, day shift (8-hour shifts) at the University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park, Chicago, IL!

     

    Under general direction, the Transplant Services Specialist serves as the first point-of-contact for patients, families, visitors and staff to coordinate services with the Office of Patient Relations. In this role, you will provide administrative services, data analysis, and customer service to facilitate efficient and effective access to the hospital’s patient feedback process. This individual provides guidance to patients and staff through the feedback process and works with the Office of Patient Relations team to ensure a customer friendly experience and compliance with The University of Chicago Medicine patient complaint policy.

     

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree preferred, 1 year experience in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
    • 2 years in patient advocacy and or customer service experience.
    • EPIC experience preferred. 
    • Experience working with various Microsoft based computer software programs for Excel and Word required.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to  serve as an administrator of a web based database preferred.
    • Ability to solve problems independently, performs multiple tasks simultaneously, exercise good judgment, and work effectively in a team environment. 
    • Ability and willingness to cooperate with co-workers, and other hospital staff to serve the needs of patients. 
    • Ability to learn and incorporate new systems and processes.
    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills requiring tact, discretion, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
    • Ability to attend mandatory training classes offered by the Medical Center after hours or on weekends, with advance notice.
