    Registered Nurse, EP-GI Procedures Department, Full-time, Days (4 x 10-hour shifts), University of Chicago Medicine, Hyde Park, Illinois


    We're hiring a Registered Nurse for the EP-GI Procedures Department at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Hyde Park, Illinois!

    Under the direction of an Attending Physician or a licensed independent practitioner, the Registered Nurse in EP-GI Procedures provides technically complex and high risk nursing care services to patients which may include one or more of the following categories: sedation, intravenous infusions and complex procedures. In this role, you will assist in pre and post patient assessment and patient care, patient and family teaching, preparing, circulating and hemodynamic monitoring during the invasive procedures. This individual is able to demonstrate clinical expertise in working with electrophysiology patients during invasive diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology and device implantation procedures.


    A Registered Nurse in EP-GI uses nursing knowledge to anticipate and plan for patient care needs. This individual understands and applies safety principles, and serves as a resource to other healthcare personnel on patient care. The RN knows the potential risks and complications from specialty EP procedures and can assist in the initial treatment of adverse effects in their area of expertise.


    This RN will have basic working understanding of all mapping equipment to set-up and troubleshoot problems. You will have the ability to prepare sterile fields per UCMC guidelines and be able to prep and sterilely drape patients for all performed EP procedures.



    Required Qualifications

    • RN Required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
    • Minimum experience to 1 year ICU experience mandatory, 2 years EP or OR experience preferred


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working in a research environment.
    • One additional certification in area specialty


    Required Licenses/Certifications

    • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the State of Illinois
    • Current CPR, ACLS, and/or PALS Certifications
