The University of Chicago Medicine Care Network Medical Group is recruiting a Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgeon at Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, Indiana. The University of Chicago Medicine has partnered with Methodist Hospital to staff its cardiovascular/ thoracic surgery. This vibrant community hospital is experienced in the treatment of all types of heart disease, including heart attack, irregular heart rhythm, congestive heart failure and heart muscle and valve diseases with a special expertise in coronary artery disease and other vascular diseases.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population
Physician with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency and/or fellowship.
Prior to the start of employment, an individual must possess the following qualifications: (1) be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or its equivalent; (2) have completed an accredited fellowship or equivalent training in cardiovascular/ thoracic (CVT) surgery; and (3) be able to obtain permanent and unrestricted Indiana medical license.
