    Senior Strategy Implementation Manager (Area: Strategic Planning)

    Location: Ingalls, Harvey, IL

     

    Join one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine. The Strategic Planning Department seeks a full-time Senior Strategy Implementation Manager to partner with Ingalls and UCM senior leadership to plan and execute high impact strategic projects.

     

    Job Summary

     

    In this role, the Sr. Strategy Implementation Manager reports to the Executive Director of Strategy Implementation and Integration and is responsible for assisting in the management of Ingalls’ multi-year business cycle and key strategic projects. In addition, will:

    • Partner with senior leadership and consultants, as applicable, to plan and execute high impact strategic projects.
    • Clearly define project scope, develop project plans, and set priorities for working teams.
    • Ensure the success of the Strategy Implementation team and its partners by serving as a thought partner, establishing key metrics, facilitating working team meetings, identifying and helping to mitigate risks and issues, developing content, and ensuring implementation stays on track. 
    • Support due diligence efforts and manages integration with key partners, as needed. 

     

    *Projects are often multi-year, transformational, and span multiple functions in the health system.  This position will be based at our Ingalls location in Harvey, Illinois, with periodic travel to the Hyde Park campus. 

     

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

    • Work with senior leaders to structure and scope strategic work, including developing comprehensive plans to help implement the clinical enterprise strategy
    • Effectively manage stakeholders and serve as thought partner for leaders around strategic work, including gathering inputs, synthesizing ideas, gaining buy-in, and helping to drive decisions
    • Manage execution of key strategic projects, including managing risks and issues, facilitating working team meetings, supporting analysis needs, and keeping implementation work on track.  Leverage project management skills & tools to ensure transparency of progress, challenges and decisions made.
    • Performs other duties assigned.

You select appropriate action - Formulate clear decision criteria; evaluates options by considering implications and consequences; chooses an effective option. You commit to implementation and work with a sense of urgency and a bias for action to implement the decision.

    Qualifications

    • Master’s degree required, or equivalent combination of Bachelor’s degree and experience
    • At least 3 years consulting firm experience OR 5 years in a strategic planning or strategic projects function at a large health care system
    • Strong project management, program management and analytical skills while working within tight deadlines and multiple projects
    • Excellent communication and client management skills
    • Ability to build strong relationships with senior leadership and lead through influence
    • Strong presentation, communication, relationship management, Excel, & PowerPoint skills are required
    • Functions well in an ambiguous environment
