  • Job Description

    We are seeking an Informatics Pharmacist Speciaist for the Outpatient Pharmacy as a full time days job in Hyde Park, IL

     

    Informatics Pharmacist Specialist works in the build, implementation, and maintenance of automation and technology to optimize pharmacy practice, pharmacy systems, and the medication-use process.

    Specializes in the medication use process, from ordering to administration, and is responsible for effective process design, development, and implementation of the Electronic Health Record (EHR), integrated and ancillary pharmacy systems, and clinical decision support systems and devices. Supports pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians as the resource for requests related to EHR, and pharmacy systems changes, additions, removals and modifications. Provides EHR-related staff education/training and assists with preceptorship of pharmacy students and residents and may perform direct patient care to support clinical and operational workflows in the pharmacy department.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy or other advanced degree highly preferred.
    • Completion of Epic and/or College-level Information Technology Courses preferred.
    • Registered pharmacist in the state of Illinois or eligible.
    • Pharmacy experience (2-4 years) in a hospital setting strongly preferred. Exceptional aptitude or knowledge may be considered in lieu of experience.
    • Background in pharmacy automation, pharmacy computer system applications, or information technology experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of contemporary hospital/clinical practice and service. and understanding of general hospital operations.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact constructively with supervisors and co-workers.
    • Requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently. Strong general clinical knowledge and expertise.

    LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

    • Registered pharmacist in the state of Illinois or eligible
    • ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY-2 Specialty Pharmacy Residency preferred
    • Epic Willow(Rx) or Beacon certification preferred
