    Practice Manager 

    University of Chicago Medicine

     

    Department: Urology

    Shift: Full-Time (1.0) / Day-Shift / 8-Hr Shifts

     

    The Practice Manager will be primarily responsible for direct onsite management of the daily operations of the ambulatory physician practice(s) located at the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM), the Comer Children’s Hospital, or various off sites.  The Manager partners with key leaders across UCM and BSD departments in decision making and ensures a bidirectional flow of information. The Manager promotes excellence in all areas of ambulatory operations and serves as the champion for continued process improvement work.  The Manager will focus on the patient and family experience, quality and safety, coordination of care across the continuum, use of technological tools and solutions including EPIC, metrics reporting, customer service, and oversees the budget, billing and related revenue cycle services.

        

    Education and Experience Requirements: 

     

    • A completed Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic body; A BSN or MSN preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in healthcare and customer service; 2+ years of supervisory experience in a multispecialty ambulatory practice preferred.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to independently manage large and complex organizational units with varying needs.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple physician leaders; experience in an academic medical center environment with 12 or more providers preferred.
    • Exceptional talent in the selection and mentoring of a high-quality team.
    • Proven ability to use data to drive performance improvement; knowledge of hospital information systems preferred.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience using LEAN or other process improvement frameworks is desirable
