    Pharmacy Manager - Sterile Preperations

    Full Time Rotating Shift

     

    We are seeking a Pharmacy Manager of Sterile Preparations in Hyde Park, IL

     

    The Pharmacy Manager is an Illinois registered pharmacist within the Department of Pharmacy Services who is responsible for the provision of safe, effective, and timely medication therapy as well as reliable pharmaceutical care to a variety of patient populations. The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing the integrity of compounding in all areas where the sterile admixture process occurs or where aseptic technique is deployed.

     

    This Pharmacy Manager manages the activities of pharmacists and technicians who work within his/her areas. This manager also accurately and proficiently staffs within the Comer pharmacy clean room.  By participating in all necessary aspects of his/her medication use systems, this manager assures his/her operations provide reliable, comprehensive, and individualized pharmaceutical care and his/her staff remain competent and engaged in customer service, standardized work, and lean processes.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Education:

    • Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
    • Doctor of Pharmacy or other advanced degree required. MHA, MBA, Masters of Science, or other advanced degree highly preferred.

    Experience:

    • Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice is required. PGY-2 Specialty Pharmacy, or PGY-2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency is preferred.
    • Operational, clinical, administrative pharmacy experience (4-6 years) in an institutional setting.
    • Exceptional aptitude or knowledge may be considered in lieu of experience. Extensive clinical experience and development may be considered in lieu of formal training.
    • Pharmacy leadership experience required, with formal leadership training or supervisory experience preferred.

     LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

    • Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Illinois (licensure required prior to employment start date).
    • ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice required. PGY-2 Specialty Pharmacy, or PGY-2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency preferred.
