    Sr. Programmer (.NET/Sitecore)


    Join one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine. The Information Systems Department is looking for a top level technical contributor -Sr. Programmer (.NET/Sitecore) to analyze, design, code, configure, debug, and document programs and interfaces, primarily supporting the implementation and maintenance of medical center websites on the Sitecore platform in a 24x7 environment.

    Job Summary


    In this role, the Senior Programmer (.NET/Sitecore) will leverage .NET and web technology expertise to develop, enhance, and support websites on the Sitecore platform, as well as other web applications maintained by the development team.


    Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities 

    • Develop, debug, enhance, and maintain code for Sitecore websites and other web applications
    • Manage code in a multi-developer environment - follow procedures for code branching and merging, perform peer code reviews
    • Perform site builds, manage release cycles, follow change management protocol
    • Provide support for and assist with troubleshooting web applications maintained by development team
    • Mentor and coach team members

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent education, training, or work experience required
    • Five (5) years of work experience in software, web, or web application development required
    • Three (3) years development experience leveraging .NET
    • Proven experience with MVC, C#, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
    • Knowledge of Microsoft IIS and SQL Server, code versioning systems 


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Sitecore CMS is a big plus
    • Experience with Cloud technologies (IaaS)
    • Knowledge of website search/indexing technologies
    • Experience with SharePoint development
    • Experience with or basic knowledge of Java

    • Proven skills in problem solving
    • Exceptional attention to detail
    • Able to work in a team environment or independently
    • Effective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
    • Experience in a health care environment helpful
