    Clinical Manger-Pharmacy Educator, Inpatient Pharmacy, full time days, Chicago, IL.


    We're hiring for a Clinical Manager-Pharmacy Educator for Inpatient Pharmacy as a full time days job in Chicago, IL. 


    The Clinical Manager, Pharmacy Education is a licensed pharmacist who functions as both clinician and manager with oversight of educational activities related to the practice of pharmacy both intra- and extra-departmentally.  The Clinical Manager over Pharmacy Education is responsible for the integration of clinical pharmacy services, drug utilization programs, and pharmacy operations where applicable to student and graduate pharmacy education.  Responsibilities include supervision of residency training programs and their accreditation, IPPE and APPE student programs, and clinical faculty support at affiliated colleges of pharmacy.  Responsibilities also include affiliation agreement contract maintenance and expansion with local and national colleges of pharmacy.


    The Clinical Manager, Pharmacy Education is responsible for ensuring pharmacy education is aligned with evidence-based best practices and regulatory standards. The manager will conduct resident and student programming and scheduling, supervision of educational guidelines as well as training in areas to assure learners are able to function within the department is also expected.  The manager will assure adequate training, orientation, credentialing, and preceptorship within all areas of pharmacy practice and practice advancement initiatives.  The manager will also serve as our primary liaison with the colleges of pharmacy.


    Clinical Manager-Pharmacy Educator Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
    • Doctor of Pharmacy or other advanced degree required. MHA, MBA, Masters of Science, or other advanced degree highly preferred.
    • Completion of ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice.
    • Clinical and operational pharmacy experience (5-7 years) in a hospital setting.
    • Preceptor experience (3-5 years) for pharmacy learners including residents and students.
    • Exceptional aptitude or knowledge may be considered in lieu of experience. Extensive clinical experience and development may be considered in lieu of formal training.
    • Pharmacy leadership experience required, with formal leadership training or supervisory experience preferred.
    • Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Illinois (complete licensure process within 60 days of employment).
    • ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice, PGY-2 Specialty Pharmacy, or PGY-2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency required.
    • Board Certification in area of expertise is required within 18 months of hire.
