    Lead Laboratory Quality & Compliance Technologist (Cell Lab), the Cancer Service Line department, Full Time Days, University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park, Chicago, IL 


    NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center dedicated to clinical brilliance, scientific discovery, and training the nation’s leaders in cancer care is hiring a full-time day shift Lead Laboratory Quality & Compliance Technologist for the Clinical Cell Processing Laboratory (Cell Lab) at University of Chicago Medicine’s main campus in Hyde Park, Chicago, IL.

    In this role, this lead in the Clinical Cell Processing Laboratory (Cell Lab) functions as a hospital staff member who, under the direction of a lab manager and lab director, collects, evaluates, processes, preserves, and re-infuses unique cells that are vital to patient recovery and survival. The incumbent will generate Quality Dashboard Indicators and trending including data analysis. They lead calibrations and verifications on quality systems (perform as well as assign to other techs). The Lead Technologist is responsible for review on a monthly basis of the Cell Lab equipment and environmental monitoring system graphs. The incumbent acts as the liaison for the clinical lab with the program QA manager. They are responsible for the oversight of monthly QA/QC and responsible for supervising QA/QC functions of technologists.    


    Lead Laboratory Quality & Compliance Technologist (Cell Lab) Education and Experience Requirements: 

    • Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic body.
    • Having 3 to 5 years of prior clinical experience related to cellular therapy is preferred.
    • Proficiency and familiarity with quality assurance and quality control in the field of cellular therapy is highly preferred.
    • Adaptability to multiple, changing demands is essential and requires exceptional organizational skills and ability to work under potential stressful scenarios.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with multi-disciplinary team, patients, and outside collaborator is expected.
    • The ability to act in a professional manner with individuals at all levels is required.
    • The ability to work independently and in team efforts is required.
    • Knowledge and ability to use automated and conventional laboratory equipment is necessary.
    • Considerable skill in maintaining records and files is required.
    • High degree of computer literacy, knowledge and ability to use laboratory/hospitals information systems is preferred.
    • Must possess good analytical capabilities.
    • The availability to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
